How to get visible utilizing other people’s audiences

Do you know how to get visible using other people’s audiences? That’s what we’re here to talk about today. This is really about expanding your reach, because growing your business is sometimes just a matter of getting more eyeballs on what you have to offer.

This looks like being a guest expert in membership, a free Facebook community, programs, masterminds, courses, summits, you name it. This is a great strategy if you have a smaller audience and you’re looking to implement this along with other marketing growth strategies.

Momentum

This marketing strategy is going to require some momentum, and that’s important to know going in. It’s unlikely that your business is going to explode after just one episode as a guest on a podcast. But with time and consistency, you will see the return on this time investment.

Pitching

Before we dive into the “how” on pitching yourself as a guest expert, remember this: There has to be a benefit for the other audience. When you are pitching, this needs to be front of mind, because that’s also the only way you’ll get the “yes!”.

Spend some time formulating a template. (Stay tuned for help with this!) Get very specific about how what you will teach their audience can help them.

Target the right businesses.

Before you start pitching, make sure that the business has an audience that intersects with yours in some way. They have to serve a similar audience as you. You don’t need to offer the same thing, but there should be some crossover.

Don’t duplicate topics.

Take the time to research this business and the topics and trainings that have already been offered. Pitching a topic that has already been covered is a waste of their time and yours.

Send an email.

Although you can pitch in the DMs or using voice audio messages, I highly advise that you use email. In this email (stay tuned for a template!), you want to make sure you are clear about what is in it for their audience, and why it would benefit them. The sweet spot is really honing in on your unique position, your unique specialty, your unique framework, and the transformation you can speak to. Start there and then give them a few topics that they can choose from under that transformation umbrella.
