Ins and Outs {Marketing Edition}

We are back today with a fun episode. We’re going to cover a few things that are going to be “in” for 2024 and things that are going to be “out”, meaning things that you really should not be doing. So let’s dive in with this Marketing Edition of “ins and outs”

What’s “in” for marketing?

#1 More live video.

We have to get on video more…and not just any video, specifically live video. The reason for this is that people need to build trust with you. Seeing your face, hearing your voice, and listening to you in a live setting helps them trust you more because it humanizes you and it reduces risk for them.

We really have to focus on building trust in 2024, and live video is one of the best ways to do it.

#2 Face-to-face interactions

Get your face in front of other people on a 1:1 basis. When you get face-to-face with your ideal clients, no matter what method you use, you build trust so quickly. It is an opportunity to facilitate more connections from that. It’s a lot different than going back and forth in the DMs, it is so powerful and potent.

#3 Collaboration and visibility opportunities

Getting in front of other people’s audiences is going to be vital because that’s going to get you more visible and expand your own audiences. It involves you getting out of your comfort bubble and reaching out to other business owners who serve similar audiences and pitching collab opportunities

What is out in 2024?

#1 Stop putting our marketing last on the list

I know, there are so many elements of your business that work together that make your business work. But there is one element in particular, that if you don’t prioritize, you will go out of business: marketing.

You have to put your marketing first, that means when you sit down at your desk, whenever that is, it’s the first thing that you do. You get it done no matter what. Putting marketing last is OUT.

#2 Stop throwing spaghetti at the wall

We need to be done with the mentality that says,  “I’m gonna market every single day, I don’t really know what I’m doing, but I’m gonna do it”. Please, please stop. In order to sell effectively, our marketing has to be intentional, and it has to intentionally support what we are offering. If your marketing plan is “whatever strikes me today, I’m gonna post”, there’s a really good chance that you’re not doing well in your business right now. You need to get intentional with how you are marketing. Think about the message, your content pillars, the content types that you are using, the different ways that you are delivering content and the schedule.

#3 Stop being afraid to have an opinion.

When we authentically show up as the person that we actually are, we attract our ideal client and the people that we actually want to work with.

You’ve got to drop the fear around people not liking what you’re saying. If you have people that don’t agree with you, you’re doing it right. Do you believe in what you are doing and what you are offering? Stop shrinking back. Own your opinion and don’t be afraid to tout it.
