How many leads do you really need?

Today we’re chatting about your numbers and not your revenue. We’re not talking about how much you’re paying yourself, we’re not talking about how much you’re charging. We’re talking specifically about the number of ideal clients that are currently in your audience. So how many leads do you really need? Let’s get into it.. 

Increase your numbers

The more quality leads that you are in front of, the better chance that you have of converting them into clients. We should always be striving to increase the number of ideal clients that you are in front of.  Statistics show that about 1 to 3% of your quality ideal clients that are in your audience will convert into paying clients. Only 1 to 3%. That’s not a lot. This means that the amount of ideal clients that you are in front of matters. 

Different type of ideal clients

The bottom line is that we can’t force anyone to buy from us. And there are so many different buyer types in our audience. Some people are going to find you and know immediately that you’re the person they want to work with. Trust can sometimes be built overnight. That does happen occasionally. And then there’s another type of ideal client, they’re perfect in every way. You feel like they fit the mold. And it might take six months, or even a year to convert, because their buyer journey is different, and their personal situation is different. There’s a lot of different factors that come into play, but the bottom line is that you need to focus on increasing your numbers. 

Volume is key

The more leads that you have in your audience, and the more ideal clients that are engaged with your content, the more conversions you’ll have.  But when? I don’t know. It depends on their buyer type. So the point here is that volume is key. Understand that it’s not just getting in front of them one time, that could actually just be the very start of warming them up. Because the statistics, based on what I’ve read and based on my experience, show that warm ideal clients are the ones who convert. They enjoy your content, they enjoy what you’re creating, they are starting to build that trust with you, they’re kind of interested in what you have to offer, and they like what you have to say.

It takes time

A lot of people don’t like to hear this. It takes time to generate that amount of leads. It just does. A lot of people with larger budgets utilize ads to increase their chances, and of course, it does help. But if you’re in a position where it has to be organic and you are manually posting and engaging and marketing, then you need to understand that volume is key and you need to work on it daily.

Prioritize Lead Generation

You must do lead generation. You must nurture them, connect with them, build trust with them, and build authority. It’s not just about the initial connection, it’s not just about that one email that you send or that one comment on their posts. It’s about continuing that process. Even if a hundred new ideal clients followed you today, they would not stay if you were not nurturing them, speaking their language directly, hitting those pain points, talking about those desires, creating content that resonated with them, making them feel heard, and making them feel seen. So in order to retain the leads that you are putting a lot of effort into finding, you have to do the other side of that, which is nurture. From there, you need to be able to sell.
