7 pieces of random rapid-fire business growth advice

Are you ready for some rapid-fire business advice? Today, I’m dishing out seven pieces of advice that I feel are the most important for promoting business growth. Regardless of where you are in your business journey, there will be something here for YOU. So without further ado, let’s dive right in.

#1 Stop assuming that your audience is annoyed when you sell.

Your marketing will always feel so magnified to you because you live and breathe it. But when you are promoting, selling, or launching something, understand that the person on the other side hasn’t been thinking about this all day, all week, or all month. You are a tiny blip in their day.

Repeating yourself in your messaging and in your marketing is vitally important.

#2 Start creating SOPs for everything.

An SOP (standard operating procedures) is essentially written documentation of everything that you do in your business. Most people think that you don’t need to create SOPs until you’re ready to hire team members and you’re ready to scale. That is false.  You should be creating SOPs when you are still in the growth mode of your business. Create them now, because I promise that when you actually need them, you are going to be up to your eyeballs in business tasks and you’ll be so glad they are already in place.

#3 Do most of your creative work first thing in the morning.

When you sit down to your computer to work, it shouldn’t be client work first. It should be your work first. I tend to tell my clients to always do your marketing first.  Do your most creative work and the work that matters most to the growth of your business first thing in the morning.

#4 Don’t try to create passive income too soon.

So many people want to jump right to creating a passive income stream. They are thinking about creating a digital download shop, an evergreen course, a mini course, or a group program. None of those things are necessarily bad, but the problem is if you jump to that too soon, you will be jumping before you have established authority in the marketplace. If you want your passive income streams to work, you need to have an audience. You need to have authority.  You need to have a method, a framework, a system. We all want the shortcut, it’s human nature,  and we wanna bypass the discomfort. But it very rarely works for business growth.

#5 Send follow-ups right away.

When you get off of a consultation, discovery, clarity or a strategy call, where there is a next step that you want that person on the other end to take – follow up right away. Prioritize it, and never skip it.

#6 Simplify your offers.

Think about how you can simplify behind the scenes. Is there a way to streamline how you are delivering your services? Cut out things that you don’t need. Get crystal clear on the little details and communication. Simplifying your services and your offers simplifies your business, and it helps you make money easier, without working more, which is what I am all about.

#7 Clarity is everything.

If you are not clear, your ideal client is going to be confused, and confused people do not buy. We have to really pay attention to how we are portraying what we do, who we serve, how we can help and that transformation that we give. Sometimes this can be hard to evaluate because we are too close to our own business, so try to look at your online storefront objectively.   Better yet,  have your coach or a trusted friend look at it specifically to evaluate your clarity.
