The Common Denominators in My Most Successful Clients

Look, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients – coaches and service providers at this point. And after all these years, I can tell you exactly what separates the ones who build sustainable six-figure businesses from the ones who stay stuck spinning their wheels.

It’s not what you think, it’s not about having the perfect funnel or the biggest email list. It’s about specific qualities these successful entrepreneurs bring to the table every single day.

Want to know if you’ve got what it takes? Let’s dive in.

They Have Delusional Optimism (And I Mean That as a Compliment)

My most successful clients have adopted this belief that everything works out for them. Not in a toxic positivity way—they still have bad days. But they view everything that happens in their business as information, not as success or failure.

When a launch doesn’t perform, when a client doesn’t sign, when a challenge doesn’t fill up? They’re like “bummer, that sucks,” give themselves space to feel it, and then keep moving forward. They don’t let one event—or ten events, or thirty—define what’s possible for them.

The opposite? Clients who fall apart when things don’t go perfectly. They manifest problems by expecting them (“this bad thing happened, now two more things are coming because they always happen in threes”). They waste days and weeks in a funk instead of getting back to work.

Bottom line: You need that ability to bounce back quickly. Otherwise, you’re wasting time and energy you could be using to build your business.

They’re Genuinely Passionate About Their Work

This isn’t about “I want to sell this because it’ll make me money.” My successful clients are thinking “I freaking love this stuff—what a perk that I get to do this AND make money.”

Here’s why this matters: You have to give a lot to get. You’re creating content, building freebies, having conversations, doing things for free. That’s a lot of emotional and physical output. If you’re not anchored into the purpose, if you don’t actually like what you’re selling, it’s going to suck.

And every time you don’t get the result you want, you’ll feel resentful. I’ve seen it—clients who feel victimized when they create something free and people don’t immediately buy. Instead of seeing it as a building block, as trust-building and seed-planting, they’re stuck in “I can’t believe this, I put in so much work and nobody appreciates it.”

That’s not helpful. You’re not a victim. You’re running an online business and it’s tough. Things won’t always go the way you want, but we keep going.

They’re Mind-Numbingly Consistent

My successful clients show up through hell or high water. If you knock them down for a few days, you can expect they’ll be up and running shortly. They take breaks, they have bad days, but you can count on them.

I never have to remind them to get back on social media or start talking about their offers. They don’t need me to pour motivation into them constantly. They have setbacks, but it doesn’t stop them from showing up consistently—on social media, making connections, doing their money-making activities.

When a method doesn’t work or a strategy isn’t producing? They’re not crumbling. They’re assessing, looking at it as information, asking “what else can we do?” or “how can we tweak this?” They’re relentless about putting their business first.

They Actually Put Their Business First

This doesn’t mean they’re selfish. It means their vision is crystal clear. They know what they want—the kind of life they want to live, the business they want to run, how much money they want to make. And they’re uncompromising about working toward that vision every single day.

They have this filter: “Is this what I want?” Because at the end of the day, they have to value themselves more than they value their clients or anybody else. Otherwise, they won’t get the business they want.

And here’s what’s funny—people think that’s selfish. Actually, it’s the least selfish thing you can do. When you’re filling your own cup and running your business effectively, you produce better work. You have time to market, time for business development, more time for your clients. It’s a win-win.

Some people literally run themselves into the ground for their clients, burn out, and close their business. What good did that do? Now their clients don’t have support and have to find someone else.

They Have a Clear Vision

Without a clear vision of what you want your business and life to look like, it’s very difficult to make good decisions—decisions that actually move the needle forward.

My successful clients know exactly what they want their business to look like and how it directly supports their life vision. This makes decision-making easy. You become a concise leader.

I’ve seen too many business owners make decisions that are really just distractions packaged as opportunities. They’re not leading directly to the result they’re going after.

They’re Disciplined About Their Schedule

They may work from home with their own schedule, but they’re not just working whenever they feel like it. They know how much time they need to spend in their business, and every week they know when they’re working and what they’re doing.

They’re organized, disciplined, and in control. They’re proactive, not reactive.

I work about 20 hours a week. I know that’s what I need to keep my business running and making money. Some weeks it’s 15, some it’s more, but I average 20 because that’s my requirement. And it’s my job to know that.

They Keep Their Business Simple

Here’s the ultimate truth: My most successful clients have simple businesses. One to a few offers. Good funnels. Consistent marketing. Systems and processes. And ample time to market their business.

If you want a business making six figures that allows you to work part-time, you cannot have a complicated business. You don’t want to be in the weeds, putting out fires, talking to team members all day, doing all the work yourself. You need a simple business. Period.

Here’s What This All Creates

Financial flexibility. Not financial freedom where you never have to work again—most people don’t have that. But financial flexibility where you don’t have to look at your bank account before making a purchase. Where you can say yes 99% of the time to things you really want.

Combined with freedom of your schedule? It’s life-changing. I’m not saying life is perfect, but the simple pleasures—a housekeeper, picking up your kids from school, clocking out early on Friday, not worrying about the holiday budget—are absolutely worth fighting for.

Everything I’ve just shared it’s exactly what I teach inside the Grow Business and Marketing Membership. The framework my clients use is available immediately—at your fingertips. You can start making these changes, work with me personally, and build a marketing strategy together.

No, you’re not going to start out making six figures working 20 hours a week. You’ll probably have to put in more hours than you’d like at first. But I promise you—it’s worth it.
