One of the many keys to success is education. This isn’t a new concept. In fact the business giants of our time and those that have gone before them tell us that they’ve never stopped learning. But, here’s the thing. Most of us do not have time to devote to a college course, a certificate program, or even a webinar. We can barely fit in what we currently have on our plate! So, how can we educate ourselves when our time is limited? PODCASTS!
If you commute to work, sit in the pick-up line at school, take a shower, cook dinner, fold laundry, exercise, or walk the dog… Then you’ve got the time my friend! Just 20-30 minutes a day will feed your brain and transform your business. So, if you haven’t already taken advantage of all the amazing value that lives behind that purple app, I’m going to give you a head start. Below I’ve listed my top five podcasts for entrepreneurs and business minded individuals like yourself and I’m even going to give you a few episodes to start with.
- Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield – She’s got an easy listening voice, professional but not stiff and she’s great at breaking things down in a way that is relatable.
Episode 231: “I’m Terrible at Writing My Own Copy” and The Other Lies That Are Killing Your Sales with Marie Forleo – If you listen to nothing else, listen to this one. It’s transforming the way that I am writing and using copy for my clients! If you want to start writing copy for your own business or you feel like your words are falling flat, this is where it’s at!
- Rise Podcast with Rachel Hollis – If you haven’t heard of Rachel Hollis, she wrote the #1 New York Times Best Seller “Girl Wash Your Face.” Lucky for us, she also has a podcast that’s worth listening to. She interviews inspirational guests, gives relatable entrepreneurial advice, and I love her straightforward, no excuses attitude.
Episode 17: How to Start and Grow a Small Business with Christy Wright – Christy addresses all of our fears surrounding building a business and puts things into perspective. This episode will make you just want to go for it! … I’ve listened to it multiple times, it’s that good!
- Christy Wright’s Business Boutique – I got hooked on Christy after I heard her interviewed by Rachel Hollis. I love her casual business style and the way she breaks down everything into steps for easy listening and easy application.
Episode 57: Standing Out from Your Competition with Your Unique Selling Proposition – We all want to be unique in some way, but how? Christy breaks down why you don’t have to be the only one doing what you do and how to use your unique position to stand out to your target market.
- Jenna Kutcher – She’s peppy and fun to listen to, some have said she’s a little over the top, but honestly, who cares…because her content is on point! I get a ridiculous amount of solid advice when I tune in.
Episode 177: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to SEO: How-to, Hacks, and Tricks to Get Traffic – Search Engine Optimization is confusing and frankly, intimidating! But, not the way Jenna breaks it down. Grab a pen and paper because you are going to want to take notes!
- Building a Story Brand with Donald Miller – Donald Miller is a master of storytelling, and he will teach you how to use story within your brand to jumpstart your business. I cannot get enough of his Podcast! I’m going to recommend starting at the very beginning on this one.
Michael Hyatt – How to Know What Your Customers Are Thinking – Do you want to know what your customer is thinking, how to connect with them, and how to sell to them? Tune in and be prepared to binge listen on Story Brand for the foreseeable future!
