The Random Tuesday Test

What if I told you that the secret to building your dream business isn’t hidden in some complex strategy or fancy marketing tactic? What if it’s actually as simple as imagining what you want a random Tuesday to look like?

Last week, I had one of those full-circle moments that made everything click. It was a completely ordinary Tuesday—not a vacation day, not a carefully planned special day, just a random Tuesday in the middle of the week. And it was damn near perfect. This wasn’t coincidence. It was the result of years of working toward a vision I’d crystallized using what I call “The Random Tuesday Test.”

Why Your Perfect Day Isn’t What You Think

Here’s the thing: when most people think about their “perfect day,” they picture themselves lounging on a beach or living some fantasy vacation life. But that’s not real life, and it’s definitely not sustainable. We’re not talking about your perfect vacation—we’re talking about your perfect ordinary day, complete with all the beautiful chaos of real life.

Your kids, your partner, your obligations, even the family drama—all of it can be part of a day that leaves you feeling fulfilled, financially supported, and genuinely happy. The key is getting specific about what that actually looks like for you.

My Perfect Tuesday: A Real Example

Let me paint you a picture of what my recent perfect Tuesday looked like, because specificity is everything here.

I woke up around 6:15, did 20 minutes of yoga, then grabbed my laptop and got cozy back in bed. I spent about an hour on my money-making activities—created a post, sent follow-up emails, tweaked and scheduled content. That was it for “work.”

Then I walked to the kitchen where a couple of my kids were up, snuggled with them on the couch while my husband Jeff made bacon and eggs. I made my special coffee (seriously, try this: strong coffee, grass-fed butter, heavy cream, maple syrup, and collagen, blended for five seconds—it’s incredible), and we sat on the back porch together chatting about the day.

After getting ready while listening to client Voxer messages, I had just one call at 10 AM. Then Jeff and I threw on gym clothes and headed to jujitsu class with my sister. After class, we grabbed lunch at a local brewery, he went to work, and I hit the chiropractor for an adjustment. The day wrapped up with hanging out with the kids and taking my daughter to pitching lessons.

The Missing Piece: Financial Freedom Without Guilt

Here’s what made this Tuesday truly perfect: I never once thought, “I should be working more” or “I’m not making enough money.” While I was working out, getting adjusted, sitting at lunch at 1:30 PM—I was still making money. My business was running, serving clients, generating income.

The gym membership, the chiropractor visits, the nanny watching the kids at home—all of it was happening without financial stress. I wasn’t feeling guilty about taking time for myself or spending money on things that fill my cup. That’s what real freedom looks like.

Why This Exercise Changes Everything

I give this exercise to all my clients because it cuts through all the noise and gets to what really matters. When you can clearly visualize what you want your random Tuesday to look like—from the moment your feet hit the floor until you go to bed—you suddenly have a filter for every business decision you make.

Your perfect day becomes your North Star. Every opportunity, every potential client, every business strategy gets measured against one question: “Does this get me closer to or further from my perfect Tuesday?”

The Hard Truth About Timing

Here’s something that might sting a little: I probably could have been living this Tuesday years ago if I’d allowed myself to. I was so caught up in thinking I had to work 25+ hours a week, that my calendar had to be packed, that if I was paying for childcare I needed to be grinding every second.

But that was just my own limiting beliefs holding me back. The infrastructure for this kind of freedom existed earlier than I realized—I just wasn’t ready to claim it.

Your Tuesday Will Look Different (And That’s Perfect)

Your version of a perfect Tuesday is going to look completely different from mine, and that’s exactly how it should be. Maybe you want to sleep until 9 AM, maybe your perfect day includes a long walk, time in your garden, or hours in your studio creating. Maybe it’s packed with activities, or maybe it’s beautifully slow.

The point isn’t to copy my Tuesday—it’s to get crystal clear on what YOUR perfect ordinary day looks like. What makes you feel fulfilled, what gives you peace, what eliminates stress?

From Vision to Reality: Making It Happen

Once you have your perfect Tuesday mapped out, the real work begins. You need to look at your current business honestly and ask yourself:

  • What changes do I need to make to create this life?
  • What hard conversations do I need to have?
  • What patterns or strategies do I need to “burn down”?
  • What am I using as an excuse for why this isn’t possible?

Because here’s the truth: time is going to pass anyway. You can spend the next five years making excuses and staying stuck, or you can do the work now to build the business that funds your perfect Tuesday.

The Foundation That Makes It All Possible

This isn’t just about positive thinking or vision boarding (though those have their place). This is about building a business that’s sustainable, scalable, and profitable enough to support the life you actually want to live.

I’ve made six figures five years in a row while working part-time hours. My clients are photographers, coaches, service providers—people in all kinds of businesses who’ve learned to build systems that work for their specific vision.

The pieces of a successful business are the same for everyone, but how you arrange those pieces is completely customizable to your perfect Tuesday.

Stop Waiting for “Someday”

I started my business in 2018, just wanting to make $1,000 a month so my pilot husband could eventually quit his $60K job. It feels like yesterday, but it also feels like a completely different world. The growth happened because we put our heads down, did the work, made sacrifices, and stayed focused on the vision.

Was it easy? Absolutely not. There were tears, stress, and long hours. But every bit of struggle was worth it to get to where we are now—mortgage-free, debt-free, with the kind of flexibility that once felt impossible.

Your Move

So here’s your assignment: Close your eyes and visualize your perfect random Tuesday. Get specific. Write it down with timestamps if that helps. Feel into what financial freedom looks like in that day. Notice what’s missing from your current reality.

Then ask yourself: What are you waiting for?

If you’re ready to stop making excuses and start building the business that funds your perfect Tuesday, I can help you get there faster. I’m opening up my calendar for 30-minute strategy calls where we’ll dig into your business, your vision, and what you need to do to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

I’ll be completely honest about whether I can help you, what roadblocks I see, and exactly what you need to do next. No pressure, no fake promises—just real talk about real possibilities.
